What got you into music?

Probably watching James Burton play with Ricky Nelson on the Ozzie and Harriet tv show planted the seed.

Who are some interesting or notable people you have played with?

I've been fortunate to work with some very good songwriters like Christy McWilson, Bill White, Eric Apoe, and Gary Minkler.

Talk about a memorable gig or two?

The Picketts opening for Johnny Cash was fun, He watched most of our set from the wings and took time in his own set to say nice things about us.  Red Dress opening for Sun Ra was fun, as was Captain Beefheart, both at the Showbox.  The Picketts got to play at the Fillmore too, with NRBQ, the history of the place has a strong presence.

How has Hank Williams' music influenced you?

Most of my favorite country music is either Hank Williams, or other artists trying to sound like him or write like him.  I spent 15 years with the Honky Tonk Revue, which played mostly Hank songs, and learning all those songs is still my foundation for playing country music.

Jed Jedrzejewski

Acoustic guitar and voclas

Where were you born?

Milwaukee,WI

Guitar, Mandolin, Accordion

What got you into music?

Had an Uncle(Curly) who played violin in a Polka band and an older brother who brought home 45's in the late 50's and early 60's -Duane Eddy. Dick Dale,  Freddy King. I rented a guitar and tried to learn them

 Then came the Beatles !!!!!!

Most famous was probably Sal Valentino, singer of the Beau Brummels. Recorded 3 albums with San Francisco songwriter Jimmy Silva, Scott McCaughy and The Young Fresh Fellows. John Wesley Harding (Wesley Stace) and the Minstrels in the Gallery.

Talk about a memorable gig or two?

Played at the famous 100 Club in London with the band "Jimm and the Boxes" auditioning for a summer tour of Europe...didn't make the cut.

4th of July gig at Waterfront Park playing electric versions of Olde English Folksongs dressed in Redcoats (Revolutionary War uniforms).

How has Hank Williams' music influenced you?

Hank's amazing vocals are an inspiration. The yodels and hiccups don't sound affected but are at the service of the song. Keeping it simple is key.

Any other tidbits?

Been singing Hank's songs for a good 25 yrs. ...They never get old

Cami Voss

Narration, Vocals, Piano

Where were you born?

Mount Vernon, WA

What instruments do you play?

Mostly I play piano and sing, but I also play a little bit of acoustic guitar and various instruments for teaching.

What got you into music?

Hearing my dad strum and sing when I was little and then exploring my parents' record collection. My parents noticed my interest and bought a piano when I was 10. I haven't stopped playing since that day.

Who are some interesting or notable people you've played with?

Lots of the amazing local musicians around the Seattle area! I love playing with my sister, Kate Voss (Opal-Thistle Pistol Sisters) and the two of us with BB Jones (Mannequin BBQ) and also with Cheli O'Bannan, Dan Taylor, Dave Bush, and Craig Corvin in The Loose Heels. I'm excited and honored to play with everyone in this Hank band!!

Talk about a memorable gig or two?

I played a couple of exhilarating gigs with a swing band in Spain once upon a time. One in Madrid at the Johnny Walker Jazz Festival, opening for Earth, Wind, and Fire and another (my favorite) at the San Sebastian Jazz festival. Such a beautiful place! I also love singing and playing in tribute shows like the ones that Dave Harmonson curates as well as the Women In Country summer series at The Royal Room.

How has Hank Williams influneced you?

Hank is for sure my number one musical inspiration. His songs and delivery are so real. I cant get enough. His songs melt my heart.

Any other tidbits?.

This will be the 5th Hank Williams tribute I've put on and I could not be more thrilled about this group of musicians!! Dave, Kelly, and Ron were in on it with me last year when Kelly realized this would be Hank's 100th birthday. We aim to honor his music and memory with several shows this September. Something I've been dreaming of for decades!

How has Hank Williams influenced you?

HANK IS LIKE "THE SOURCE" (UNDERSCORED, BOLDFACE, ITALICS, ETC.) FOR COUNTRY MUSIC; I FEEL LIKE HE, AS THE BEATLES DID TOO, TOOK IN ALL THAT CAME BEFORE, AND THEN INFLUENCED ALL THAT CAME AFTER.  I KNOW ALL MY FAVORITE COUNTRY SINGERS WORSHIPPED HIM AND WANTED TO WRITE AND SING LIKE HIM.  I WAS LED KIND OF NATURALLY TO HIM AS A YOUNGSTER LISTENING TO COUNTRY MUSIC AND THEN IMMEDIATELY FELL UNDER HIS SPELL.

I sang Garth Brooks' "The River" at my 5th grade D.A.R.E graduation....but not before I stepped on the mic cable and pulled it out of the microphone, with a huge-POP- in the speakers for all to enjoy.

How has Hank Williams influenced you?

Hank Williams influenced everyone who plays country or rock music, directly or indirectly. I've been singing "Lovesick Blues" in retirement home since I was 13 years old and first learning to yodel. (Which sounded fantastic, I'm sure you can imagine, sung by a pubescent voice.)
