Celebrating Hank’s 100th birthday with a very special event featuring the Hank Williams Centennial Revue! Especially formed from an outstanding group of NW musicians for this stellar occasion, and performing a limited run, we feel so fortunate to host them at the Juke Joint. You’ll hear and dance to genuine renditions of Hank’s songs and life story as rendered by Cami Voss, Country Dave Harmonson, Kelly Van Camp, John Olufs, Jed Jedrzejewski, Greg Canote, and Ethan Sobotta. It all happens at Eagles Mother Aerie (8201 Lake City Way NE, Seattle), 6:30pm dance lesson (Country 2-step & Swing), 7:30-10pm dance, $20. About the lesson: Evolving from the Foxtrot of the 1920s, the Texas Two-step, or Country Two-step, became ever more popular until, in 1980, the movie Urban Cowboy blew the lid off by introducing the dance to the masses. And since so many of Hank’s songs swing like the dickens, we’ll add that to our 2-step and off we go! Delight in music, community, and unbounded merriment every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Friday at Gator Boy’s Juke Joint. Great dancers, super friendly people, a fully-stocked bar and Mike, your stellar bartender.
